If you don’t consider yourself a runner, or do but want the opportunity to get involved in the local community while supporting a 501 (c)(3) organization, think about joining our team!
Here are some common questions & answers about volunteering:
Can we run in the race AND Volunteer?
YES, we have pre and post race activities that always need volunteers!
Can we volunteer with our kids?
YES, we love seeing families coming together on Thanksgiving day!
What if we want to help but can’t sign up for the full shift?
We are grateful for as much or as little time as you commit and will work with YOUR schedule
Can I help even if I have a physical or intellectual disability?
Absolutely - we can accommodate ALL Abilities
What if we want to volunteer as a Group?
We welcome all groups/all sizes - Dance Troupes, School Clubs, Scouts, Church Groups, etc - ALL are welcome
Will I be eligible for community service hours?
Absolutely! We are happy to sign any forms to verify community service hours for helping with the Turkey Trot.
What if I ONLY want to help with a certain aspect on event day?
We will always do our BEST to place you in an area you feel comfortable working. Below are some of the areas where we need help:
Pre-Race Logistics (includes passing out bibs/swag bags/t-shirts and registration)
Race Day Registration (similar as above but on Race Day)
Race Day Logistics (assisting with questions, timing, organization)
Course Volunteers for 5k and Kids Race (help us direct the flow of runners)
Aid Station & Cheering (pass out water and cheer on runners/walkers)
Thanksgiving Day Mascots (wear a silly turkey suit and get the crowd excited)
